Happy St Patrick's Day!

Top o' the morning to you!

Auckland’s main road, Queen Street, came alive to the sounds of fiddles and pipe bands yesterday, and the street was lined with people clad in green clothing and wearing weird and wonderful green hats. The Irish of Auckland … and everyone else besides … were celebrating the special day of the Irish patron saint, St Patrick.

I don’t have the Irish gift of the gab so I’ll let my photos do the talking …

I liked their bouncy footwear

Left is the Honorary Consul General of Ireland, Rodney Walshe.

I had no idea centaurs were Irish!

These pipers had an impromptu jam session at the end of the parade ... simply incredible!
